TurningPoint
This half day course is designed to help instructors use the power and functionality of the TurningPoint assessment system to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom. The course will cover general use of TurningPoint based on the needs of teachers and pupils in schools in the UK. This course is hands-on and teachers will get the chance to participate interactively with the course.
Target Audience
This course is intended for any user of the TurningPoint assessment system. . There is no prior knowledge assumed but candidates must have standard skills in using Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
• Setup TurningPoint 2006 software and install TurningTechnologies Response Devices and Receiver hardware • Create, save, and run a TurningPoint presentation • Store student’s responses and create reports • Use several techniques to improve your multiple choice questioning (MCQ) technique • Use advanced features of TurningPoint, including suppressing charts, use countdown indicators, assigning students to teams, conditional branching and more. - Summary of Content

Download a copy of the TurningPoint software. Prerequisites to install TurningPoint. Install TurningPoint. Install a TurningPoint Response Device Receiver. Setup Response Devices including handsets and receiver unit. | Start TurningPoint. Create a New TurningPoint presentation rapidly, using the TurningPoint Toolbar. Save Close and Reopen a TurningPoint presentation. Run a TurningPoint presentation. Poll for and display correct answers or solutions to questions. Close the TurningPoint software. |
Improve your multiple choice questioning (MCQ) technique. | Use important TurningPoint Tools gaining more productivity from TurningPoint. |
Understand some of the advantages and disadvantages associated with MCQ. Understand when, where, and by whom TurningPoint should be used. Learn several techniques for designing effective multiple choice question.
