Interactive Assessment

Assessment for Learning (AfL) requires a student focussed approach to evaluating attainment and setting targets. The fundamental principle of assessment for learning is that students can evaluate their own learning.

Students can understand why they attained 62% in a subject but frequently have no idea what was wrong in the other 38% of their mark. AfL enables them to find out about where they can improve in 38% of the subject they answered incorrectly.

Peer Mentoring
This is where our interactive assessment tools can help. Using them helps teachers to set questions and evaluate the response of each student.  Teachers can include notes so that students can see why they achieved the assessment they did. The instant feedback which interactive assessment tools provide gives students the chance to choose a member of their group they would like to mentor them on a particular strand or topic.

Silent Minority
Capturing the voice of the ‘invisible student’ and, at the same time, protecting their sensitivity, used to be an almost impossible task. Now teachers can poll the views of students who may be reluctant to share their views on topics by using the assessment tool in anonymous mode.

Aids Exam Preparation
Teachers can use  our interactive assessment tools to test students formally or informally in preparation for an exam. The results will identify the strengths and weaknesses of each student, allowing the teacher to provide students with more accurate feedback.

Interactive assessment tools are a valuable aid to AfL. Teachers can not only instantly capture every student’s understanding but also students can more easily identify their own strengths and weaknesses. Leading to a more interactive and thriving learning environment.
