WEEE Directive

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic goods on the environment, by increasing re-use and recycling and reducing the amount of WEEE going to landfill. It seeks to achieve this by making producers responsible for financing the collection, treatment, and recovery of waste electrical equipment, and by obliging distributors to allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.

WeeeCare PLC are registered with the Environment Agency under the registration number WEE/FH0004ZR. Steljes are a member of the 'WeeeCare Compliance Scheme'. This ensures that Steljes, as an importer  and distributor of products, is covered for any responsibility under the WEEE Directive.

The products that Steljes is responsible for include SMART Technologies, Turning Technologies, NuVo and Interlink.

If a business customer (including education customers) has waste that is obligated to Steljes, the customer should call +44 (0) 844 800 2004 and quote the Steljes 'WeeeCare Account Number': 136289, WeeeCare will then establish that the waste is obligated to Steljes and then arrange the collection / recycling of the items.

Steljes distribute other brands which are covered under schemes arranged by the manufacturers directly. If there are any requirements for these products under the WEEE Directive then Steljes advise that the customer contacts the manufacturer directly.
