Our Team

The Innovation team is made up of individuals that bring expertise to all stages of the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle. Key roles include:

  • Identifying New Products – whilst this is a key role the task is not exclusive to the Innovation team. In order to foster a culture of innovation throughout the organisation Steljes welcomes ideas from all employees. This ensures that contributions come from those in a range of roles e.g. sales, customer services and marketing.
  • Analysis And Due Diligence – when new products or ideas are submitted to the Innovation team an analyst will conduct initial due diligence using predefined criteria. If the NPI Board sign-off the idea for further exploration then more detailed analysis is carried out to fully understand the target market, competitive landscape, and financial viability of the idea.
  • Legal And Financial – any idea will require both an assessment of the financial opportunity and also how the opportunity can be protected. Innovation are responsible for protecting the company’s Intellectual Property and work with professional organisations to protect the idea and create contractual agreements with suppliers or development partners.
  • Product Development – conceptual ideas are developed in-house in partnership with industrial design companies. Project Managers lead each project from concept right through to manufacture. Throughout this process specific individuals in the team will contribute expertise in areas such as design and manufacture.
  • Technical Expertise – Innovations technical manager will often become involved in multiple stages of the NPI lifecycle. Often an idea or concept will need a technical eye cast over it before it is presented for further analysis. Input is also added throughout the due diligence process and especially during the various stages of product development.
